John Thorp is a legendary stuntman, visionary innovator, and unstoppable force who continues to redefine what’s possible—both on and off the field. His career began in Hollywood during the 1970s and 1980s, performing breathtaking stunts in iconic shows like Hawaii Five-O and The Six Million Dollar Man. After a severe injury in 1986, his miraculous recovery through advanced electrotherapy inspired a new mission that would change countless lives. John went on to found the Thorp Institute of Integrated Medicine in 1995 and Intelligent Bioenergetics, Inc. in 2012, becoming the exclusive global distributor of the Electro-Equiscope technology now used by elite athletes across the NFL, NHL, and MLB. His groundbreaking work has optimized recovery, reduced chronic pain, and advanced performance for professionals and champions worldwide.

Yet, at 74, John’s drive for challenge and excellence burns brighter than ever. As a passionate patron of his own polo team, he continues to embody courage and endurance—most recently competing in the USPA 0–4 Goal Pacific Circuit Tournament alongside longtime friends Ronnie Tong and his sons Russ and Ryan. Reuniting after 30 years, their team fought fiercely to finish as proud runners-up in a match filled with heart, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Few knew that John was passing a gallstone during the competition, but true to form, nothing could keep him from the field. Whether performing impossible stunts, revolutionizing healing technologies, or charging down the polo pitch, John Thorp remains a living testament to resilience, passion, and the boundless power of the human spirit.
